Zero Minutes Of Geeky Fame….

So Stephanie sends me a message over MySpace about a tv show looking for geeky gamer girls for a makeover. I’m like here! Here! But it turns out my life is too busy to allow such an event. They wanted me to take two days off from work, one day could have been doable if I worked over the weekend… BUT as it turns out, I have to work over the weekend anyways, so I can’t trade off any days, or attempt to at least… They also wanted to film me at my house and at my work place. My house… My mom would not be happy about unless I cleaned the rest of the house. And work? Legal would say no. That’s not even a question I could probably ask. Everyone is probably uptight at work, so I’m not going to be rocking the boat. I suppose it was all wishful thinking in the end. Darn it! I wanted a free makeover! ;_;

Speaking of work… I have to work both days this weekend! My birthday is on Sunday and I’m going to be spending it at work! And starting Monday I get to start clocking in. I told Brian we should go on as many coffee and tea runs as possible because starting next week we would have to clock out to go. Stupid Kronos. Creeps me out because it reminds me of some cheesy story line possibly involving monster robots bent on taking over the world…

Going Hourly…

So sometime last year there was the lawsuit against Activision for unpaid overtime. EA had a similar lawsuit before ATVI and that resulted in overtime pay along with their benefit cuts. So today I get called in into Treyarch’s HR with one of the producers and I’m told that starting next week, I’m going to be on hourly pay. HOURLY. Activision calculated that the average work week with their studios was 45 hours per week, so my hourly pay is my annual salary divided by 52 weeks divided by 45 hours. Not 40 hours, but 45 hours. This magical number means that my overtime pay several things. One, in order to recieve overtime, I need to work 45 hours a week before I start gaining OT pay. Two, since my hourly wages are calculated on the 45 hours, I’ll be receiving less OT pay than the norm because my hourly wages are calculated lower. Three, I will no longer be eligible for comp time. Four, I HAVE TO FREAKIN’ CLOCK IN AND OUT! That part annoys me. I don’t like clocking in and out. It feels like big brother, always breathing down my neck. Not to mention I find that having comp time is much better than getting overtime pay. Why? Because I can stack my normal vacation on top of comp time for a nice and long vacation. Long vacation doing nothing. Bumming around at home. Playing too much FFXI. But whatevers. I have no choice. Bleh.

I Trip, I Fall

As I was walking back from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf during my afternoon tea break, my right ankle twists and my body starts falling to my left. I somehow managed to rotate my body and I see my tea splattering out from my lidded cup. Dave was surpised, he said I crumpled as I fell. I think I stepped on one of those oak seed pods… I don’t know what they are, I can’t remember what they’re called, just that they’re big and spikey and not fun to step on. I was telling Dave about how I managed to get my Warlock’s Gloves in FFXI last night, but that conversation disappeared when I fell. >.>;;

iPhone was announced today, along with the Apple TV. I think I am interested in the Apple TV. I will wait until Verizon is able to get the iPhone before I get a new phone. Either that or I switch to Cingular. <.<;; ....It's expensive, let's not and say that I did... :x

Happy New Year!!

It’s the first of the year, my room is much cleaner. It still needs a bit more work (read: lots).

Getting There!

This morning, I woke up and started working on coloring a sketch of mine. I also ate some delicious ozouni that my mom made. Very good.

Last night my sister brought over some futomaki and kinpira gobo. Those were very good, too! I was pretty impressed.

An iPod From Laura

For Christmas, my sister bought me an iPod. The 80GB iPod that I was hoping she wouldn’t buy, but did. She told me it was because I supported her so much while she was studying for the BAR. I was just being the nice older sister. The nice older messy sister. ^^; Anyways, I’m like, yeay! I won’t be able to use it that much until I start working again, or go to the gym. I’ll have to buy something to keep the iPod safe while working out.
