The Dark Knight

Finally saw the Dark Knight in IMAX tonight. Dennis wanted to see the 9 PM showing before it was swapped out for Eagle Eye. I think Jon said that this was his 4th time in the theater, and Allen’s 3rd? And here I am happy with one viewing.

It was a good movie. I can see why people would want to see it multiple times. However, I’ll be happy with a Blu-ray or DVD version.

An Uneventful Weekend

Slept for most of the day on Saturday. I really didn’t mean to do that, but I did. I got sleepy at around 2 PM, and when I woke up it was well past 5 PM. Ate dinner with Laura, Steven, and Franklin. They wanted to eat at Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ. For dessert, we stopped by Yogurt Island where you can make your own frozen yogurt in a cup. You pay by the ounce. Very sneaky. Good for over eaters. Finally, we watched a movie that Franklin bought called Top Secret. Dumb, but entertaining movie.

Today, I drove down to Irvine to practice with the band, but it turned out that they didn’t practice much. It was mostly an info session for the student convocation. I also forgot my wallet and had only 2 bucks on me. I was going to use it to buy boba tea, but then I realized that buying gas to get home was more important. >.<;

The Price Collection at LACMA

Went with my mom to see the Japanese art from the Price collection at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art today. Originally, we were going to go early in the morning to beat out any crowd that would be there, but we both overslept. It didn’t matter because there wasn’t the stuffy and close contact crowd we were expecting.

While we were headed there, my mom was confused because she thought it was at the Japanese-American Museum, and not LACMA. I started worrying that she might be right because I was paying more attention to the grapes I was eating than the Japanese TV show that was airing the segment about the Price collection. My sister confirmed over the phone that it was indeed at LACMA. Point for me!

When we got there, a tour group had just started and we decided to join them. I think that made the experience so much better. She explained a lot of stuff about Jakuchu, Rosetsu, and other artists in the exhibit.

We were at the museum for about 3 hours.

For dinner, we went to Mitsuwa in hopes of getting more food from the Hokkaido Fair. Unfortunately, all the good stuff was gone (shishamoooooo… *sob*). We ended up getting some very expensive dried scallops, not so expensive dried salmon, and some dried clams.

Body Tiyurd

I didn’t consume enough calories before I went to the gym because when I got there, I realized how low in energy I was. :( I did my best. 25 minutes on the bike, weights (abs, legs x 5), and then 15 minutes of cycling again. Not bad, I think.

Afterwards, I knew I had to get some food into me, so I hopped on over to Whole Foods to buy some yogurt, a slice of pizza, and chrysanthemum tea. I really wanted to shop more in the store, but I really didn’t need anything else, so I left.

I also wanted to get a cake decorating set to use when I’m making meringue cookies. So to Bed, Bath & Beyond I went. Then it happened. The call from work. Except it really wasn’t a call telling me to come in. In fact, I don’t know who called me and I don’t know why. >.> How strange…

Grrr Caterpillars

There are caterpillars eating one of my tomato plants. They’re kinda cute, so I don’t want to kill them. (Yeah, I’m strange.) One of them even munched on a tomato. >:( Grr!!

While I was out there going grr, I thought… I’ll take revenge by killing crawlers in FFXI… >.>;;

John Williams Concert

On Saturday night, a group of friends and I went to the Hollywood Bowl to see the John Williams concert. The music was as good as I remembered it. This year, they had a tribute to MGM musicals with special guest Stanley Donen, which honestly I didn’t know who he was until he popped up on stage. What they did was pretty cool. On the large TVs they had clips of Fred Astaire singing and dancing, and then the LA Phil would take over after about 30 seconds of the movie audio. So it’d just be of Fred Astaire dancing and the LA Phil keeping in perfect time with him. It was pretty cool.

When Crunching is Over…

I’m going to go to the gym 2 hours a day, 7 days a week. Work has been feeding me unhealthy crap and I’ve just been sitting around all day. I do try to go to the gym during lunch to get some exercise, but I feel that it’s not enough. The fat around my belly jiggles and I can grab a good chunk of it in my hands. Only two more weeks left. Ganbare~!
